Transitioning Villages into Agroforestry 

One of the best ways to get more trees is to ask everyone to plant some. This project helps villages in Rusinga Island community to transition to Agroforestry by distributing seedlings to the people who need it most and by providing sustainable agricultural practices including permaculture so that the trees can boost agriculture yield and food production. This will also provide ground cover and reduce siltation which is now adversely affecting the Lake Victoria ecosystem depleting fish breeding sites and buffer zones. So far the communities have responded well and many have joined us in planting .

Wildlife Haven

Our interest to rewild the hilltops is also meant to create a habitat for wildlife namely; birds, gazele, snakes like the rock python, monkeys, gazelles amongst others which for many years have been worried of the rapid and dramatic destruction and loss of vegetation cover. This is a future gold mine for people who have
